Combination tile styles for kitchen floor tile design
The type of Floor Tiles you use and the overall design will affect the way your kitchen decor looks as a whole and the floor tiles play a really important part in the design. Home owners should take as long as they need in order to select the right floor tiles and there are lots of aspects to consider. Take the time to visit a local Tile Store and have a look at the type of styles you like and if you don’t see anything that you are completely happy with, take a look on the internet because there are literally hundreds of different floor Tile Designs and styles including different materials.
There are many design ideas and many different ways in which floor tiles can be installed that will bring your kitchen to life and using combination and multi sized tiles is a great way to have an individual design. Combination and multi sized tiles can be used in many ways and they are great for both smaller and larger kitchen floor areas.
Natural stone floor tiles especially work really well with combination tiles and the variations in some natural stone floor tiles only adds to the individual design style that can be achieved.
Installing combination tiles may take a little more planning because the tiles will follow a set pattern and it isn’t as simple as just installing different sized tiles in any layout, when you reach the edges of the room, there will almost certainly be problem with left over floor tiles and that is when the installation will become confusing. A full measurement will need to be taken and a good idea of how many tiles you need in order to stay within a budget.
Combination floor tiles can be a two tile pattern where two different sized tiles are used to create a design, the chima multi coloured Slate Tiles gives a real rustic design to kitchen floors and the rich brown’s and gold’s will really create a natural traditional feel. The two tile pattern may be square and rectangular tiles installed using an alternating grid design where rectangular tiles are installed in one row and square tiles of equal length in another line.
The three sized tile design is another popular design used by many home owners and can be achieved by installing rectangular tiles directly under square tiles; a square tile will then be halved and placed to the right of the rectangular tile. A more complex design can be achieved by placing the rectangular tiles either side of a complete square tile.
Other styles include creating a diamond shape in the centre of the floor and then using smaller tiles as an edging and border to the floor tiles design. Home owners can also add more colour by using a completely different colour for the border of the floor tile design.
There is so much that can be achieved with floor tile design and it really will set the standard of the room. The beige porcelain combination porcelain floor tile gives the appearance of natural stone with the functionality of porcelain floor tiles.
